PARAEDUCATOR 1

Additional Information:

We are looking for someone who has a heart for kids, who can work independently,
and who is a quick learner, even if they don’t yet know how to do something. We are
looking for someone who is creative and resourceful. We are also looking for
someone willing to use a range of social emotional learning skills and restorative
practices when working with students in classrooms, in small groups, on the
playground, and during lunch. If someone interested in this position doesn’t yet have
these skills, we are looking for someone who is open to learning them and using
them with students. Though not required, we prefer candidates who are bilingual, as
our school serves students who speak over 30 languages.
We are a larger school with approximately 700 students. Springville has a strong
student, staff, and family community. Our families are very supportive of our school,
and each staff member is committed to the growth and success of each of our
students. Our Para 1 position involves student supervision during lunches and recess
and supporting students in classrooms.

Purpose:
The Paraeducator 1 assists the Teacher in the delivery of an instructional program, through preparation of the classroom and materials, and through working with individual and small groups of students. The Paraeducator 1 also provides supervision of student activities in order to ensure that the school maintains a safe and orderly environment.

2026-27 Rate Hourly Rate: $23.41141-$29.57831  5 days per week based on the number of calendar work days

Daily Work Schedule: 10:10am-1:55pm
